Les Huns à la bataille de Châlons

This illustration, titled “The Huns at the Battle of Chalons,” depicts an extremely violent combat scene associated with the Battle of the Catalaunian Plains. The composition shows horsemen charging into the melee, spears raised, bodies thrown down, and a ground strewn with victims, in a dramatic vision dominated by movement, fury, and the chaos of impact.
